The Épagny-Metz-Tessy area, also known as Machurettes or Mandallaz, offers excellent mountain biking at a more approachable pace. The trails aren’t as steep as Semnoz or Veyrier, but are still just as fun. This is one of the few areas in Annecy suitable for beginner mountain bikers.
Unfortunately recent forestry work (as of summer 2026) has destroyed many of the best trails.
Trail Elevation
All of the trails in Épagny fall between 500m and 900m, making laps easy and climbs quick.
Trail Difficulty
Most of the trails in Épagny are greens and blues, making Épagny a great beginner destination. But even seasoned riders will enjoy the descents, with plenty of flow and optional features to add on.
Riding Season
Because the trails aren’t very steep, they don’t drain well. There’s often prevalent mud long after rain, even when other riding areas are dry.
